Notes |
As of 2009, Chiripa is part of the INDIGO network (see http://nora.nerc.ac.uk/15125/). All geomagnetic values from this period should currently be considered provisional.
Jan 2016 - The installation of a wind-farm nearby has resulted in a new site being sought for an observatory.
Chiripa is now collecting data using an INDIGO system, as of 2009.
At Chiripa in 2009, 215 days of data were collected and baselines were applied to this data to generate absolute minute values and from these values an annual mean values for D H Z and F were calculated. This data covered the months Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June, July, August, November, December. The data for September and October was missing, as the equipment failed due to a lightning strike.
All Chiripa 2009 minute mean data are stored in IMF V1.22 format in the Edinburgh GIN.
During 2009, 33 absolute measurements were made. |
